| Carlton Sherrell Deal, Sr, age 79, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2021, in Knoxville, Tennessee. At his side were his daughter Jennifer Jacoby, and her husband Bill. Connected via FaceTime from Europe were his son Carlton Sherrell Deal, Jr and his wife Shannon. Carlton, Sr is also survived by Jennifer's children Brandon, Lauren, and Derek and Carlton, Jr's children Ani and Parker; by his brothers Raymond Deal and Marvin Deal, Jr and his sisters Linda LaRowe and Gwendolyn Forehand. Carlton graduated from Great Bridge High School in 1959 and Old Dominion University in 1966. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1963-1971. Carlton's main business was as a custom clothier, seeking the best for each person he served, unique to their own specifications. No matter what challenges Carlton faced, he exemplified tireless resilience, constant contentment, and an unwavering faith in Jesus. All who knew him describe him as kind, gentle, and gracious. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am Saturday April 17 at Virginia Beach Community Chapel, 1261 Laskin Road, Va Beach, Virginia.
