Died: April 11, 2018

Roy E. Bearden, Jr., 62, of Knoxville, passed away suddenly on April 11, 2018 in Nashville, Tennessee. Reb was born in Nashville to his parents Roy and Sandra Bearden on July 23rd, 1955. He attended Farragut High School, UT Martin and UT Knoxville. Enjoying a successful career in commercial insurance, he worked as an underwriter for American Hardware Mutual Insurance Company and as auditor for Daimler-Chrysler Insurance Company.

Raised in the Episcopal Church, Reb was happy to serve as an acolyte during services in his youth. A proud southerner, he had a penchant for wearing black and white spectator shoes, donning his trademark Fedora. His sense of humor was the hallmark of his personality; he loved nothing better than pulling a good practical joke on the unsuspecting friend. Passionate about all things collegiate basketball, UT football, barbeque and the Civil War, Reb bore his struggles admirably and always took time to talk with everyone he encountered. Devoted to his family, he had become "Pop" to his granddaughters.

Reb is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his beloved sons, Roy Ellsworth Bearden III and William Morton Bearden (Danielle); granddaughters Alaina Carter Bearden and Radley Ellis Bearden; aunt Margaret Bearden Brown; cousin Walt Bearden; special friends Ron Lawhorn, Dave Goodwin, Lane Cook, M.D.; extended family Ginger and Ron Garrett, Jane and Bob Morton.
