Mervyn Christopher Barnes

Mervyn Christopher (Merv)Barnes, age 47, of Knoxville, TN went to be with our heavenly Father on Wednesday July 20, 2011 at Parkwest Hospital. Merv was born July 31, 1963 in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was of the Christian faith and attended Parkwest Church of God. His philosophy of life comforted those whom he was around. He was able to bring out the good in all aspects of life. A long time employee of FedEx Freight, Merv was a city driver. His testimony is heard over and over again by his customers and co-workers. His passion for driving was contagious and he brought joy to those he encountered throughout the day. Merv was preceded in death by his father, Marvin V. Barnes. He leaves behind his loving wife of 20 years, Pam Barnes; two sons, whom he cherished, Brandon Christopher Barnes and Aaron Malik Barnes; mother, Rozelle T. Barnes; sister, Ralois Crowd and niece, Tiffni Crowd. Merv is also survived by his extended family: Angie Kersey, Chris and Trish Cool and family, Joe and Heather Kersey and family, Carla Kersey, Mandy Jacoby, and a host of other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2011
