Robert FloydDIED: December 30, 2014FLOYD, ROBERT J. (BOB) -, age 86, of Knoxville, TN went to be with the Lord on December 30, 2014 after a long and prosperous life. Bob enjoyed spending time outdoors with his wife and family, especially birdwatching and fishing. He also enjoyed making various stained glass items. Bob was a member of First Baptist Concord. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Dickerson Floyd. Survivors include, children and spouses, Jennifer and Jim Fair of Knoxville; Janet and Lance Rasnake of Knoxville; grandchildren, McKenzie and Landon Fair; and a sister and spouse, Judy and Richard Braham of Las Vegas, Nevada. Bob was a graduate of Vanderbilt University (B.S. and M.S. Geology). He was a retired professional geologist from the Tennessee Valley Authority where he authored numerous publications about the geology of the Tennessee Valley. Bob was also a longtime member of the Geological Society of America. Although he was a graduate of Vanderbilt, his blood ran orange, especially for Pat Summitt, Holly Warlick, and the Lady Vols. A special thanks is extended to the staff at Arbor Terrace Assisted Living for their compassionate care and support over the last eight years. The family would also like to thank Ms. Gindy Beth Houston, Mr. Wayne Heatherly and Ms. Martha Human of First Baptist Concord for the many cards, prayers and visits. Private graveside services will be held for the family at Pleasant Forest Cemetery in Farragut, TN.
