James Glenn Conner, Jr., age 74, died peacefully in his sleep Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at Sweetwater Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following complications from diabetes and a recent heart attack. He graduated from Walland High School in 1965 and enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served a 15-month tour of duty in Vietnam. He was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Conner was preceded in death by Father, James Glenn Conner Sr.; Mother, Elizabeth Stinnett Underwood Conner; half-brother, John Carroll Underwood; sister-in-law, Pearl Underwood; and sister-in-law, Betty Underwood.

He is survived by half-brother, Mitchell H. Underwood, Rockwood, TN; sister, Sandra Conner Walker and brother-in-law Martin Walker, Maryville, TN; and brother, David Conner and sister-in-law Angela Conner, Louisville, TN. Other survivors include: niece, Christie Walker Morris, Maryville, TN; nephews, Chris Conner and Matthew Conner, Louisville, TN; nephew, Steve Underwood and wife Susan, Chattanooga, TN; niece, Delores Underwood Simpson and husband Dave, Odenville, AL; and niece Linda Underwood Evans and husband Tim, Rockwood, TN. He is also survived by great-nephews John Underwood and wife Sydney, Knoxville, TN and Gavin Morris, Maryville, TN, and great-nieces Hayley Deane Underwood Perry, Rockwood, TN and Sara Morris, Maryville, TN. The family will gather at Pleasant Forest Cemetery, Concord Road in Farragut, TN for a graveside service. Memorial Funeral Home, Maryville, TN., is in charge of arrangements.
