    Lester L. Ross, age 79, of Knoxville passed away Monday evening, April 20, 2015. Lester was born June 12, 1935, in Thomas, Oklahoma, to Harley Ross and Inez Ross Campbell. He served with pride in the U. S. Air Force and remained in contact with many of his buddies in the 725 Air Mobility Squadron. Lester attended Arkansas State University and the University of Tennessee. He was retired from Pitney Bowes. Lester was a devoted member of Concord United Methodist Church and was an active participant in the Friendship Sunday School Class. He helped many people by volunteering behind the scenes and was a cherished friend. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Lester is survived by his wife of 55 years, JoAnn Ross of Knoxville; son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Tammy Ross; grandchildren, Moses Ross and Kaitlin Crabtree, all of Rockwood; sister, Betty Roof; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Ann Ross, all of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:45 p.m. on Friday at Concord United Methodist Church, followed by a celebration of life at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. Brent Hall officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Concord United Methodist Church Good Samaritan Fund, 11020 Roane Drive, Knoxville, TN 37934.
