KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Lon S. Campbell, 95, a retired farmer and former resident of Ocala from 1976 to 1986, died Nov. 27, 1991.A native of Knox County, Tenn., Mr. Campbell was the great-grandson of David Campbell, who in 1787 was a co-founder of Campbell's Station.

His ancestors were pioneers in the Farragut-Concord area in East Tennessee and had established a church and school on the site of the Pleasant Forest Cemetery. He was a lifetime member of Virtue Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where he served as ruling elder for more than 30 years. Mr. Campbell was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in France during World War I.Survivors include his wife, Cora Lee Campbell, Knoxville; a daughter, Elizabeth Lee Campbell Sparkman, Ocala; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren
