| Rebecca E. Young (Jones) was born January 10th, 1950, to the union of William D. Jones and Estelle Jones (Dennis). Becky was a faithful member of New Covenant Baptist Church for many years. Though she had no children of her own, she served as a mother figure to her many nieces and nephews. Rebecca was known for her upbeat and contagious spirit. Her humor was unmatched, and she kept everyone around her laughing. She was a passionate and talented poet who loved the Lord. Her home was filled with images of butterflies as she loved the idea of transformation that butterflies represent. Her smile, humor, and kind heart will be greatly missed. Rebecca was called home to glory on August 24th, 2023. She was proceeded in death by parents: William D. and Estelle Jones, sisters: Sadie, Stella, and Brenda, and brothers: Franklin and William. She leaves to cherish her memory siblings: Annette, Terry, Judy, Ella, and Dennis along with a host of devoted nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends Saturday, September 2nd from 2:00-2:30 with the Celebration of Life service to begin at 2:30 p.m. at the New Covenant Baptist Church, 10319 Starkey Ln., Knoxville, TN 37932 where the Pastor Fredrick E. Brabson, Sr. is Pastor and will officiate. The final resting place will be held at the Pleasant Forest Cemetery, 401 Concord Rd. immediately following the service. A dove release will conclude.
