James W. Tipton      Born: April 15, 1885   Died: May 23, 1930

James Tipton was born in 1885, the son of Washington and Ellen Tipton. In 1900 his father was working on a farm and James was in school. In the 1900 census, his father, Washington, was listed as being born in Tennessee, May, 1860 and his mother, Ellen, was listed as being born in Tennessee, June, 1863. They were married in 1880 and James is listed as their only child in 1900. His father, Washington Tipton, died in 1916, in Concord, Tennessee.
